On the latest episode of Bet the Edge, Vaughn Dalzell and Drew Dinsick preview what bettors should be expecting in the College Football markets for this upcoming season.
Bet the Edge welcomes in legendary American goalkeeper and NBC Sports Premier League analyst Tim Howard. Tim breaks down the match between Liverpool (-451) and Crystal Palace (+1200), and describes what kind of shot Palace has to pull off a major upset. He hints at alternative approaches of attacking this contest, mainly in goal scoring (2.5 goals: Over -185 | Under +138). He also describes the outlook of team USA (+600) winning their group at the World Cup over the likes of England, Wales, and Iran, as well as qualifying for the knockout stage (+110). Howard dishes on who he believes has a realistic shot of winning the tournament among favorites has his sights on for (+475), France (+550), England (+650), and Argentina (+650).
VSiN's betting analyst Tim Murray stops by the show to dive into the college football conference futures. Tim kicks things off by laying the chalk in the Big 10 with Ohio State (-235), as he believes there is nobody that even comes close to the Buckeyes in their conference this year. With the Big 12 a bit more uncertain, he sees value in riding with a longer shot like TCU (+1500) to capture the conference. In the ACC, Tim isn't necessarily sold on Clemson (-120), so he is checking in on Miami (+550) and NC State (+800). Murray loves the hype surrounding Ohio State QB CJ Stroud for the Heisman Trophy (+275), but in a case where the wide receiver on the most dominant offense wins, he loves the look on Buckeyes' wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba (+5000).
Vaughn and Drew wrap up the show with their Edge of the Day. Drew is targeting Sloane Stephens (+133) over Alize Kornet, while Vaughn eyes the UCF Knights win total (8.5).
