College Hoops DFS Plays: Championship 4/5

Here we go with the College Hoops DFS slate for the NCAA Tournament Game on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:20 ET. Here are the odds:

Baylor vs. Gonzaga (-4.5) / 159

With that, let’s get to the daily fantasy analysis!

Drew Timme - Gonzaga - FD: $12,500 - DK: $10,000

Timme is the most expensive player on this slate, but he’s still someone to consider as your Captain on DK and MVP on FanDuel. Our CBB DFS Optimizer has him projected five points higher than the next player, and that doesn’t even factor in his legitimate 45+ FP upside. In other words, Timme has far and away the best floor/ceiling combination of anyone playing in this game, and there’s enough value to make him work as the top overall play.

Jalen Suggs - Gonzaga - FD: $12,000 - DK: $9,000

This column series was extremely heavy on Jalen Suggs for Saturday’s game, and he came through with 35 fantasy points (including the game-winner). What will the freshman do for an encore in the National Championship spotlight? Suggs’ game doesn’t need much analysis, as he’s a smooth player who can contribute in every statistical category. My strategy is pretty simple tonight: pair Suggs with Timme and then find enough value to stay under the salary cap.

Davion Mitchell - Baylor - FD: $11,500 - DK: $8,200

It’s always hard to choose between Davion Mitchell and teammate Jared Butler. We have been on ‘Team Mitchell’ in this column series, and he has come through with more fantasy points than Butler in each of the last four games. Mitchell is actually cheaper than Butler despite that, and the $1,000 discount on DraftKings makes him a no-brainer. I’m not sure we’ll see a ton of upside from Mitchell, but he should flirt with 30 FP as a solid utility play.

Also Consider: Corey Kispert

Joel Ayayi - Gonzaga - FD: 9,500 - DK: $7,400

Ayayi came through in the scoring department en route to 34 fantasy points against UCLA. Will that carry into tonight’s National Championship game? We aren’t sure, but Ayayi should see a ton of minutes, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s brimming with confidence. He’s very much in contention as a utility play on both sites, as the salary comes at a noticeable discount from the aforementioned top plays.

Andrew Nembhard - Gonzaga - FD: 8,000 - DK: $6,000

I have a feeling that either Ayayi or Nembhard will come through with a strong game. There’s a chance that both of them will hit their fantasy projection of 26 and 24 fantasy points respectively. Nembhard has been up-and-down all tournament, but he plays the entire game while racking up points and assists if things are going his way. He’s super cheap on both DFS sites relative to the projection and playing time.

Mark Vital - Baylor - FD: $9,000 - DK: $3,800

Vital is a much better play on DraftKings than FanDuel. His fantasy production has been all over the place lately, including some single-digit clunkers. Foul trouble can ruin his night, but he’ll otherwise see significant minutes in a prime spot. I believe you can accept that risk for $3,800 on DraftKings, but $9,000 on FanDuel doesn’t make sense. I’ll be rolling with Vital as a utility play and surrounding him with the top plays from this article. Hopefully he doesn’t get into foul trouble early.

Also Consider: Adam Flagler (FD)
