CASH STACK

Pittsburgh Pirates (vs. St. Louis Cardinals - SP J.A Happ)

Pointsbet.com has the Pittsburgh Pirates as slight underdogs at +115 with a 9.5 O/U. Happ bounced back well after getting demolished by the Minnesota Twins on July 28th. In his last start, St. Louis' left-handed starter lasted five innings allowing just five hits and two earned runs to the Atlanta Braves. Tonight, Happ faces a Pittsburgh Pirates team that has lost five in a row. He carries an 8.41 road ERA  and allows right-handers to hit .309 over 349 at-bats. Happ has also allowed 21 of his 22 total home runs to opposing righties. Over his last four starts, Happ has a 9.43 ERA with five home runs allowed. I expect the Pittsburgh Pirates to get back on track tonight finding themselves in the win column.

Top plays: Bryan Reynolds, Jacob Stallings, & Ke’Bryan Hayes

Value options: Anthony Alford (batting 4th at $2,100 on DK)

Pivot: J.A. Happ

GPP STACK

Philadelphia Phillies (vs. Los Angeles Dodgers - SP Max Scherzer)

Stacking the Philadelphia Phillies could be a very lucrative strategy tonight. The Phillies are no strangers to Scherzer having faced him in 205 prior at-bats. Specific Phillies have been able to produce against Scherzer. These Phillies include Brad Miller (batting 5th), Bryce Harper (batting 3rd), Odubel Herrera (batting 1st), and Jean Segura (batting second). These four batters are hitting a combined 30 for 99 with seven total home runs against Scherzer. Considering their current daily fantasy salaries, (also taking into account that Scherzer should be the most popular pitching play tonight), having the guts to invest in a Philadelphia Phillies stack could be huge. Bryce Harper is one of my top plays on tonight's slate. Over his last 10 games (35 at-bats) he’s averaging 12.8 DK FPPG. He has reached double-digit fantasy points in seven of his last eight games. The Philadelphia Phillies are a risky investment but if they hit, expect massive winnings.

Pivot: Max Scherzer
