Here we go with the Single Game NFL DFS slate for Monday Night Football of Week 8. Today’s matchup is between the Giants and Chiefs with Kansas City checking in as a 10 point home favorite. The over/under currently rests at 52 total points. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 ET.

We’ll highlight the top picks and best bargains to assemble a cash-inducing lineup. On top of that, the “additional notes” section will feature several tournament selections while adding context to the rest of this slate.

We will be producing these articles for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football matchups, so be sure to bookmark the NBC Sports EDGE DFS Page for those occasions - not to mention all the other fantastic daily fantasy content.

Patrick Mahomes - QB - Kansas City (DK: $12,000 / FD: $17,000 / Yahoo: $41)

You don’t need me to tell you that Mahomes is the top play for cash games. Even though he’s chalky, it’s hard to stay away from him as your Captain in tournaments as well. Most of that has to do with lower opportunity cost from his opponent. Also, Mahomes is looking for a huge bounce-back effort after an embarrassing loss to Tennessee last weekend. Go ahead and click him at the top of your lineup.

Daniel Jones - QB - NY Giants (DK: $10,200 / FD: $15,000 / Yahoo: $28)

Jones has been all over the map from a fantasy standpoint. That’s really not a surprise to anyone. He went for 28+ fantasy points in two of three games earlier this season, then his next two outings combined for 12 FP. Go ahead and insert the shrug emoji here. There’s a chance we’ll see the good side of Jones as he’s facing a Kansas City team that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to QBs this season.

Byron Pringle - WR - Kansas City (DK: $2,200 / FD: $7,000 / Yahoo: $12)

Pringle has been surprisingly active for the Chiefs. He has always been a guy who is capable of recording explosive plays, but now he’s seeing viable targets. The speedy receiver has hauled in eight catches across nine looks over the past two games, resulting in eight receptions and 128 yards. That’s not too bad for a dirt-cheap filler on a single-game slate.

Dante Pettis - WR - NY Giants (DK: $5,000 / FD: $8,000 / Yahoo: $11)

This is an injury-contingent play. Kenny Golladay is out while Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney are questionable. If Shepard is out, then Pettis could find himself in a prominent role within this offense. He has vaulted up the depth chart in recent weeks due to injuries, coming through with 10 catches on 16 targets for 87 yards and a score over his last two games.

Mecole Hardman - WR - Kansas City (DK: $4,800 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $13)

It’s hard to decipher between Kansas City pass-catchers not named Kelce or Hill. It’s anyone’s bet who will come through with the solid outing. Hardman and Pringle have stepped up in that regard, as the former has pulled in 17 catches (22 targets) for 166 yards over his past three games. Is that sustainable? Probably not. Is Hardman worth a look for a cheap price on a single-game slate? You better believe it.

Travis Kelce (TE - KC) or Tyreek Hill (WR - KC) - that’s always the question. I’m siding with Kelce tonight as a better red-zone target who is marginally seeing more targets. Both are excellent stacking extensions of Mahomes.

Darrel Williams (RB - KC) is in play tonight against a New York team that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to running backs. Devontae Booker (RB - NYG) continues to fill in for Barkley, and he’s an interesting option through all formats on DraftKings/Yahoo.

Sterling Shepard (WR - NYG) is questionable, as mentioned earlier. His absence would open the door for Darius Slayton (WR - NYG) to see more looks, so this is definitely an important piece of injury news to consider. Evan Engram (TE - NYG) isn’t a fun play, but more targets would funnel his way if NYG is short on pass catchers. The Chiefs have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this season.

John Ross III (WR - NYG) is a tournament dart throw if Kadarius Toney and Slayton are out. Demarcus Robinson (WR - KC) is a blind faith cheapie who you hope can connect on a long touchdown to pay off his salary. Don’t expect more than a couple of targets while hoping he can come through on one.
