NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are three games scheduled for Friday night.

Forwards:

Nazem Kadri (Colorado) – C - $9,900 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $30 Yahoo

Kadri’s price on DraftKings is very good, but I also recommend him on FanDuel and Yahoo where he’s considerably more expensive. A year ago it would have been crazy to take Kadri in a FanDuel league anywhere near $9,900, but he’s been playing like a different player this season. He’s recorded at least a point in each of his last 13 games and 23 of his last 24 contests. He’s up to 13 goals and 48 points in 30 contests, which is good for fourth place in the NHL’s scoring race.

Jason Robertson (Dallas) – W - $8,000 FanDuel, $6,900 DraftKings, $20 Yahoo

Robertson scored a goal and registered an assist on Wednesday, giving him at least a point in each of his last eight contests. He’s up to 13 goals and 32 points in 27 contests. That’s a step up even from last season when he finished second in Calder Trophy voting.

Joe Pavelski (Dallas) - $7,300 FanDuel, $6,200 DraftKings, $23 Yahoo

Pavelski is 37-years-old, but he’s been playing some of his best hockey this season with 15 goals and 35 points in 33 games. In terms of points-per-game, he’s on pace to have the best season of his career. He’s also in a good position to reach the 30-goal milestone for the first time since 2018-19 and the sixth time in his career. At his current price in daily leagues, he’s well worth taking.

Bargain Bin: Sam Reinhart (FLA) - $7,100 FanDuel/$5,500 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Mats Zuccarello (MIN) - $6,600 FanDuel/$5,200 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Clayton Keller (ARI) - $6,200 FanDuel/$4,900 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Andre Burakovsky (COL) - $6,200 FanDuel/$4,800 DraftKings/$19 Yahoos, Patric Hornqvist (FLA) - $5,200 FanDuel/$2,900 DraftKings, Anton Lundell (FLA) - $5,200 FanDuel/$3,900 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Nicolas Aube-Kubel (COL) - $4,400 FanDuel/$2,500 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Cale Makar (Colorado) - $7,500 FanDuel, $7,400 DraftKings, $30 Yahoo

You can’t do better than Makar on the blueline. He already has 16 goals in 29 contests, which puts him easily at the top of the goal scoring pack among defensemen. He’s also been a reliable contributor throughout the campaign. His longest point drought was just two games and that was back on Oct. 19-21. He’s going into Friday’s action on a three-game point streak after scoring a goal and three points on Tuesday.

MacKenzie Weegar (Florida) - $6,000 FanDuel, $5,200 DraftKings, $18 Yahoo

Weegar has been somewhat hot-and-cold this season and right now he’s doing very well. He’s scored two goals and six points in his last seven contests. He’s not a great option at all times, but while he’s on a roll he’s worthy of consideration given his fair price across the three sites.

Bargain Bin: Miro Heiskanen (DAL) - $5,800 FanDuel/$5,700 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Gustav Forsling (FLA) - $4,400 FanDuel/$3,400 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Jake Oettinger (Dallas) - $7,500 FanDuel, $7,600 DraftKings, $26 Yahoo

Oettinger has won his last four starts and is having a great season with a 9-2-0 record, 2.20 GAA, and .923 save percentage in 12 games. Unfortunately, he’ll be facing the high-powered Florida Panthers and on a busier night, that would be enough for me to exclude him. With that the lack of options though, I’m willing to roll the dice on Oettinger, especially at his discount price.

Bargain Bin: Kaapo Kahkonen (MIN) - $7,300 FanDuel/$7,900 DraftKings/$31 Yahoo
