I am fading Alek Manoah in the series finale between the Blue Jays and Rays.
Manoah is on my fantasy team and a few bad starts away from being traded for Jackie Moon or a bag of chips. Manoah is posting a 5.59 ERA, 13 walks, 12 strikeouts, 12 earned runs and 24 hits over 19.1 innings and four starts during May.
The Blue Jays have lost four-straight when Manoah pitches and five of the past six games. Manoah surrendered at least two earned runs in five-straight games and with the way Tampa Bay's bats are hitting, that should continue.
Manoah has a good history against current Tampa Bay hitters with a 28.2 K% and .194 OBA over 117 plate appearances. However, he is nowhere near his previous self and that could be to multiple factors, ranging from the pitch clock to velocity.
With percentile ranks of 15% and 14% when it comes to strikeout and whiff percentages, give me the Under on Manoah's 5.5 strikeouts.
Manoah's gone Under 5.5 strikeouts in four-straight and nine out of 10 games this season (90%). He has gone Under 4.5 Ks in five out of 10 (50%).
