Sunday Night 7: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

To help you out, here are the seven questions with a few statistics to help you analyze the Kansas City Chiefs matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, which is a rematch from Week 16 that saw the Chiefs come away with a 36-10 win. 

 

#1 Patrick Mahomes Passing Yards 

0-220, 220-259, 260-299, 300-339, 340-379, 380+ 

Mahomes’ season was not at the MVP-level he has put forth in previous years. However, he still threw for nearly 4,900 yards, which is an average of 285 yards per game. In Week 16, Mahomes threw for 258 yards in the Chiefs win over the Steelers.

Pick: 260-299

#2 Ben Roethlisberger Passing Yards 

0-180, 180-209, 210-239, 240-269, 270-299, 300+

In what may be Big Ben’s final game, one of the ultimate competitors will try and find the Fountain of Youth for one last time after a challenging season throwing the ball. Roethlisberger threw for an average of only 220 yards per game this past season and only 159 yards in Week 16 against the Chiefs.

Pick: 210-239 

#3 Travis Kelce Total Receptions and Receiving Yards

0-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9+ receptions

0-30, 30-49, 50-69, 70-89, 90-109, 109+ receiving yards

Kelce remains one of the elite tight ends in the NFL. This season he caught 92 passes for 1,125 yards, which is an average of a little over five receptions and 66 yards per game. Expect Kelce to be targeted more frequently now that the playoffs have begun.

Pick: 7 receptions and 90-109 yards

#4 Najee Harris Total Yards and Receptions 

0-55, 55-74, 75-94, 95-114, 115-134, 135+ yards

0-2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7+ receptions 

Harris enjoyed a stellar rookie season in Pittsburgh, finishing fourth in the league with 1,200 yards rushing. He was also a threat out of the backfield in the passing game, catching 74 passes for 467 yards. Expect him to be a focal point of the offense for Pittsburgh this weekend.

Pick: 95-114 total yards and 6 receptions

#5  Tyreek Hill Receptions and Receiving yards 

0-3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8+ receptions

0-30, 30-49, 50-69, 70-89, 90-109, 110+ 

Tyreek Hill is one of the most dynamic talents in the league. He amassed 1,239 yards receiving on 111 catches and rushed for nearly 100 yards on only nine carries. All that said, Hill only caught two passes for 19 yards when the Steelers and Chiefs played during the regular season. Expect Pro Bowl cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick to be assigned to Hill all game long, again this weekend.

#6 Diontae Johnson Receptions and Receiving Yards

0-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9+ receptions 

0-45, 45-59, 60-74, 75-89, 90-104, 105+

Johnson has been Big Ben’s go-to guy this season, hauling in 107 passes for 1,161 yards during the regular season. Only once did he catch fewer than five passes in a game this season. When the Steelers and Chiefs met a few weeks ago, Johnson caught six passes for 51 yards.  

Pick: 7 and 60-74

 #7 Winner and Margin of Victory

The Chiefs are favored by 12.5 points at the time this article was published. They should be heavily favored (where does Pittsburgh find points?) but keep in mind Kansas City was only 8-9 against the spread this season.

Pick: Chiefs by 10-11
