It is a short turnaround for Kirk Cousins and co. following an embarrassing 40-3 loss at home to the Dallas Cowboys. Tonight on NBC the Minnesota Vikings (-145) host Bill Belichik and the New England Patriots (+120).
The Vikings (8-2) are favored by 2.5 points, but questions are swirling around this team. They have won eight of ten but their point differential is -2! At the core of their issues on offense is an offensive line that has been overwhelmed by opposing pass rushes more and more frequently the last few weeks. Dalvin Cook is still elite in the backfield as is Justin Jefferson on the outside, but the tandem along with Kirk Cousins need time to produce.
The Patriots (6-4) are coming off a less than inspiring performance last week as well…but it was a win. New England's defense has played at an elite level the last few weeks having yielded just 23 points in their last three games. Granted those performances were against the Jets (twice) and Colts, but the pass rush is for real.
New England Patriots (+120) @ Minnesota Vikings (-145)
Line: Vikings -2.5 (-115)
Over / Under: 42.5
Keep those numbers in mind while we take a deeper dive into the market and find some attractive player props. NBC Sports Fantasy and Betting analyst Matthew Berry offers us the following parlay with BetMGM joining the fun adding a boost:
Kirk Cousins UNDER 250 Passing Yards
The Minnesota signal-caller has actually eclipsed the 250 yard mark in six of ten games this season. However, Matthew Judon is licking his chops thinking about taking on the fragile O-line of the Vikings. As an aside, Judon's odds to win Defensive Player of the Year (+600) are plummeting. He now trails only Micah Parsons (-400).
Kirk Cousins UNDER 25.5 Pass Completions
Cousins has gone UNDER this mark in seven of ten games this season. Add in the Judon factor and the thought is that number grows to eight games of fewer than 26 completions for Cousins.
Kirk Cousins UNDER 2.5 Touchdown Passes
The third leg of this parlay is the most likely to cash. The Michigan State alum has not thrown for more than two touchdowns in a game this season. The only wrinkle could be the emergence of TJ Hockenson in the red zone. The former Lion is used to the short week and playing on Thanksgiving. Those short routes the TE runs could be all that is available to Cousins who we expect will have little time to let deeper routes develop for the skilled Minnesota wideouts.
If you want to ride with Matthew Berry, know that BetMGM is sweating it with you. Play them individually or parlay the three. BetMGM will be boosting the parlay from +140 to +170.
Have a great weekend.
