2022 College Football Power Ratings

by Thor Nystrom
Updated On: June 13, 2022, 6:43 pm ET

Unveiling my 2022 preseason college football power ratings. Each team's power rating can be used to estimate the spread of any game this coming season. I have custom home-field advantage numbers for each team that span between 1-4 points. For baseline estimates, add 2.5 points to the home team.

These numbers will be tweaked in the months ahead based on a myriad of factors including transfers that haven’t occurred yet, reports from local beat writers, clarified two-deep depth charts, and team health heading into the season.

This off-season, we saw an unprecedented amount of movement in college football. In one sense, it’s hard to feel confident about your numbers -- no matter how profitable they've been for you in the past. In another sense, the bookmakers feel the same way we do. We'll have an opportunity to make money early in the season. But a lot of homework is yet to be done before we can get there.
