Cantlay favored at Pebble after DJ withdraws

The withdrawal of the world's top-ranked golfer Monday night sent the odds market for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am into a version 2.0.

Dustin Johnson has thrived at Pebble Beach and was just coming off a win last week in Saudi Arabia, leading oddsmakers to install him as a heavy favorite. PointsBet Sportsbook priced him at +360, the shortest pre-tournament favorite on their books since Justin Thomas was +250 to win the 30-man Tour Championship in 2019.

But Johnson opted to withdraw from the event Monday night, causing lines and prices to be adjusted on nearly every player in the field. After the dust settled it was California native Patrick Cantlay atop the odds standings at +750, followed by Daniel Berger.

Also not too far down the list this week is Jordan Spieth. Spieth nearly won last week in Phoenix despite starting the tournament as a +15000 longshot, but that price is nowhere to be seen this week at an event he won in 2017 and finished T-9 a year ago. Spieth was listed at +2500 when Johnson was still in the field, but now he's down to +2200 and behind only five other players in the field.

Here's a look at some of the other revised odds as the PGA Tour's West Coast Swing returns to California:
