Welcome all! The Stanley Cup Playoffs are moving full steam ahead and many of these first-round series have not disappointed! As we move into the final days of the opening round, many teams have tremendous pressure on them and I think that motivation can be exploited for our financial gain! There have been two winners over the past couple of days, so here’s to starting a streak on the best bets tonight! There are three more games on the NHL docket tonight and here is the bet I am looking at to be our winner!

Calgary Flames vs Dallas Stars, 10:00 PM ET, TNT (Game 6)

This series is reminiscent of a sports car being stuck in mud. When a pristine vehicle in stuck, you can’t use the features that make the car great but you know it’s still the same car. In this series between the Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames, Dallas is the mud and, you guessed it, the Flames are the car. The Stars have made it their mission to play an ultra-physical and penalty-riddled series and they have gotten their way. From the outside, it’s been a tight series but looking closer, the Stars have been hanging on by a thread the last couple of games. Games 4 and 5 featured the Flames busting out of the mud to score seven goals while allowing just two to the Stars. They also outplayed the Stars in offensive production as the Flames posted 54 shots in Game 3 and then 32 in Game 4. Dallas only mustered 21 shots in the losing effort on Wednesday.

Of the three games tonight, this is the only one I see being a series clincher: the Flames are at full capacity and are the better team, even on the road. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom will make yet another start for the Flames and he’s been the best goaltender in the playoffs so far. Markstrom is holding down a GAA of 1.21 and SV% of .952, the former is the best mark among the 16 starting goalies. Look for the Flames in front of him to press early and get that first goal. That first one is so important against Dallas as playing from behind doesn’t allow them to get into that defensive shell they want to play in. These games have stayed tight so I will be backing off the Puck Line for this evening and opting instead for the Flames to win in regulation on the 60-minute line. It's time for Calgary to end this and move on to bigger and better things on their postseason agenda.
