Happy Thanksgiving to all that celebrate! I hope everyone out there travels safe and eats their body weight in food tomorrow afternoon around the country. The holidays are upon us but there is still business to attend to as the NHL is rolling out a mega 14-game slate tonight. There are plenty of ways to win around the league and here is what I am looking at!

Carolina Hurricanes @ Seattle Kraken 10:00 PM ET

The Hurricanes are on an absolute tear and you would be hard-pressed to find a better hockey team right now than the Carolina Hurricanes. Coming into tonight’s game with the Seattle Kraken, they are 14-2-1, sitting atop the Metropolitan Division. In addition, they have been one of the best road teams this season, going 8-2 straight up on the Money Line. With there being no games tomorrow on account of Thanksgiving, we should see Frederick Andersen between the pipes which gives the Hurricanes a big-time edge. Andersen holds a GAA of 1.88, which is the fourth-lowest rate per game in the NHL.

On the Seattle side, things have not gone quite as expected to this point. The goaltending has been below average and the offense scoring 2.89 goals per game. That is not terrible, but playing a team like Carolina requires at least 3-4 goals per game! Seattle has been below average on home ice as well, going 4-6 on the Money Line and has lost to teams like Vancouver, Chicago and Buffalo. The Hurricanes are the cream of the crop and the margin for error will be extremely low tonight. I like the Money Line in favor of the spread as the Canes have a 4-6 ATS mark on the road this season and the Money Line has tremendous value at -145.

The Pick: Hurricanes Money Line (-145 on PointsBet)

St. Louis Blues @ Detroit Red Wings 7:30 PM ET

The Red Wings have had an up-and-down 2021 season to this point. They are 8-9-3 coming into their meeting with the Blues tonight but are an impressive 5-2-2 on home ice! This entire bet rides on Detroit’s goaltending and a start for Alex Nedelijkovic, who should be a huge boost tonight. The Wings starting goaltender has held down a 2.83 GAA which isn’t impressive. However, it is lower than Thomas Greiss' 3.41 GAA. The NBC Sports Edge game predictor has the Red Wings with fair confidence winning this game outright and the odds sit at plus money, which is always good to hit on during the holiday season!

On the other side of the ice, the St. Louis Blues are no pushovers in 2021. They stand at 10-6-2 on the season and sit in second place in the Central Division with 22 points. The Blues are trending in a mediocre direction right now though as they are 4-5-1 in their past 10 games. The defense has hit a snag recently as well, giving up 17 goals over their last five road games, which is over three per contest. The Blues will also continue without Brayden Schenn, which leaves them vulnerable in the middle of the ice. Look for Dylan Larkin and company to use their speed and top-line skill to take down the Blues as home underdogs tonight and bring home some of that plus money for Turkey Day!

The Pick: Red Wings Money Line (+115 on PointsBet)
