After a few weeks without any PGA Tour events, the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off the calendar year from the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii. The Sentry Tournament of Champions is restricted to golfers who won on the PGA Tour in the previous calendar year. The only notable absentees from this year’s event are Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson.

The Sentry Tournament of Champions was first held in 1953. Between the years of 1986 and 2013 it was the PGA Tour season opener. Now it is slated as the first tour event of the calendar year and is followed by the Sony Open.

This year, much like other years, the field is absolutely stacked. Eight out of the OWGR top-10 are set to play this weekend’s event. A few notable names in the field are Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Brooks Koepka.

Oddsmaker’s at PointsBet Sportsbook have Rahm (+775) as this week’s betting favorite. Rightfully so, the OWGR #1 golfer had a phenomenal season. Despite taking a few weeks off, Rahm is poised to push aside his poor performance at the Fortinet Championship and set aim on his seventh PGA Tour victory.

Defending champion Harris English is back in the field and in search of his fifth PGA Tour victory and he bears a price of +3400.

At first glance, a golfer that really interests me is Jason Kokrak (+3500). Over the past few years, the winners of this event have done well hitting greens in regulation and have been solid with their putter. Kokrak is top-10 in GIR and Strokes Gained: Putting. He could very well find his name in the mix come Sunday, and his +3500 price tag warrants a deeper dive.

Here’s a look at the 39-man field and the odds associated with each golfer:
