The big news on Monday came out of the nation's capital, as Minnesota's Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a strained right calf during the third quarter of Monday's loss to the Wizards. He'll undergo more tests on Tuesday, and the hope is that KAT won't be sidelined for too long. The initial belief is that he avoided a significant injury, but we'll have to wait and see. Towns' injury puts fantasy managers in a tough spot, as there are multiple Timberwolves whose fantasy values would be boosted by Towns being sidelined for an extended period of time.
Kyle Anderson (10% rostered, Yahoo) is the first name to know, as he made two starts in early November when Minnesota was without Rudy Gobert. He replaced Towns in the lineup Monday night and appears to be the most likely replacement. In 28 minutes, he accounted for eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, and one 3-pointer. Anderson isn't going to be a prolific scorer, but he can provide rebounds, assists, and defensive stats, and he's ranked just outside the top 150 in 9-cat, per-game value.
But Anderson isn't the only option for fantasy managers to consider here. Jaylen Nowell (4% rostered) finished Monday's game with 23 points, five rebounds, two assists, one block, and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes. For managers in need of additional scoring punch, Nowell would fit that mold. Naz Reid should see more minutes, but that may not be enough to boost his fantasy value sufficiently with KAT sidelined.
Joe Harris (8%)
Harris has been mired in a shooting slump to begin the season, but he broke out of it Monday night. Shooting 5-of-11 from the field, he recorded a line of 17 points, four rebounds, one block, and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes. Harris' played more than anticipated beforehand, but that was due to Ben Simmons missing the second half with a sore knee. Neither Harris nor Seth Curry has been a great fantasy player, which makes for an interesting fantasy dilemma. With the Nets having three more games this week, determining if either player is worth adding will depend on Simmons' status. If he's available, there isn't much to be gained from adding either shooter.

Jose Alvarado (12%)
Alvarado has been mentioned in this column on multiple occasions, and with good reason, as he's a must-stream whenever the Pelicans are without C.J. McCollum. He finished the Pelicans' win over the Thunder with 15 points, two rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
Jalen McDaniels (23%)
McDaniels' overall stat line wasn't very impressive in Charlotte's loss to the Celtics, but he did score 24 points while shooting 4-of-6 from three. With Gordon Hayward (shoulder) sidelined, the reward outweighs the risk as far as adding McDaniels is concerned. At a minimum, McDaniels offers a significantly higher upside than Theo Maledon (11/4/8/3 with one 3-pointer), who started for the ill Terry Rozier on Monday.
Robinson-Earl was inserted into the Thunder starting lineup due to the team needing more size, and he finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes. Robinson-Earl's place in the starting lineup recently has depended upon the matchup, which makes it difficult to fully trust JRE or Jalen Williams in fantasy leagues. Managers would be better off waiting for an official announcement of the starting lineup on game day before deciding which player should be streamed.
