Things have not gone as planned or expected for Eloy Jimenez, who came into the season with high expectations (ADP: 124), but has hit just .223 with six home runs so far — also missing nearly a month with an ankle injury.
On the latest episode of the Rotoworld Baseball Podcast, prospects guru Chris Crawford joins me to check in on a number of young players and in-season call-ups, including what to expect from Jimenez going forward. We also dissect the absurd numbers of Austin Riley (.328 with eight homers and 22 RBI in his first 17 games), and how likely it is that Michael Chavis (.264 with 10 homers and 28 RBI) will continue mashing all year.
(And just a quick note: Keston Hiura was originally included in this episode, but the Brewers changed that when they sent him down to Triple-A on Monday.)
