Off day yesterday as I am becoming accustomed to sitting back on the Holy Day because baseball is just so effing random on a Sunday. It’s a new week, and even though the MLB slate is rather weak, JVTV is dropping a nice little K prop to brighten up your Monday. You’re welcome.

Zack Wheeler O/U 6.5 Strikeouts vs. Atlanta Braves (1)

The Wheelers on the bus go ‘round and ‘round…‘round and ‘round. Zack Wheeler, my preseason NL Cy Young pick, had a couple issues during his first few starts. Having originally been pushed back from his Opening Day with a lingering shoulder issue, last year’s NL Cy Young runner-up has finally started to round back into peak form allowing just three earned runs over his last four starts (26 innings).

Facing the Atlanta Braves on Monday, Wheeler has a chance to continue his recent success against his NL East foe. LAst year, he saw the ATL five times, in four of them he tossed at least seven innings for two runs or less, with seven plus K’s. As the Braves hold the third most punchouts in baseball (394), “Toss ‘em back, Zack” has found his strikeout stuff again. With seven K’s or more in four straight outings, he is a great candidate to notch over 6.5 punchouts this evening. Having nine batters with at least 24 ringups on the season (five of them with 36 or more), ATL is a candidate to strikeout closer to 10 or 11 times tonight. Therefore the alternate K prop total is not a bad look either.

Despite the fact that I’m sick for grabbing a bad Cy Young number on Wheeler, I’m delighted to see you can still grab him in the +2000 range while he is continuing his comeback tour. That award in the NL is WIDE OPEN.

PREDICTION: OVER 6.5 K’s (-104)

Enjoy this K prop Monday, cuzzadeech.
