Fantasy Premier League (FPL) continues for Gameweek 22. Premier League officials have confirmed that eight teams will have a double-game week (DGW) this round, making it a valuable time for managers to use one of their free hit chips. The teams scheduled for a DGW are Burnley, Watford, Brighton, Chelsea, Leicester, Tottenham, Brentford, and Manchester United.

While many players are still dealing with injuries and COVID-19 related issues, the biggest variable keeping players sidelined from their Premier League rosters this week is the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). 16 of the 20 EPL teams will be experiencing thinner squads due to players representing their home nations in AFCON. Leeds, Newcastle United, Norwich City, and Tottenham are the four teams that have no players competing in AFCON. In contrast, Arsenal, Leicester, and Watford have been impacted the most, as they have each lost four players. However, the most notable players who will be away for the coming month are Liverpool's two-star frontmen, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané

Looking over at our NBC Sports league, congratulations to Khaled Sabra, manager of EgyUSA, for being the Manager of The Week, scoring a total of 125 points. Khaled made perhaps the best possible triple captain choice of the season by giving the armband to Jarrod Bowen, who brought in a whopping 63 points. They also received a double-digit performance from Anthony Gordon, which separated them further from the rest of the pack.

Top Transfer Targets will look at the roster tiers in FPL, breaking down the best options in each. The tiers will be broken down as The 40 percent or more club, 25-40 percent owned, 15-24 percent, 10-15 percent, and under 10 percent.

Let's look at this week's fixtures:

Friday, January 14

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Crystal Palace

Saturday, January 15

Manchester City vs. Chelsea

Wolves vs. Southampton

Newcastle United vs. Watford

Norwich City v Everton

Burnley vs. Leicester City

Aston Villa vs. Manchester United

Sunday, January 16

Liverpool vs. Brentford

West Ham vs. Leeds

Tottenham vs. Arsenal

Tuesday, January 18

Burnley vs. Watford

Brighton vs. Chelsea

Wednesday, January 19

Leicester vs. Tottenham

Brentford vs. Manchester United

No explanation needed (40 percent or more rostered):

Joao CanceloMohamed Salah (away at AFCON), Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Michail Antonio are all members of the 40% club this week. All players will be playing at home this weekend, as Liverpool takes on Brentford, City takes on Chelsea, and West Ham takes on Leeds.

Don't get caught out in the crowd (25-40 percent rostered):

Mason Mount (MID Chelsea 7.7m, 25.5%): Mount is an excellent transfer target despite Chelsea having a tough first fixture against Manchester City on Saturday. This season, Mount has 13 goal contributions (seven goals and six assists) and ranks eighth in the EPL for shots on target per 90 minutes with 1.30. Also, given Chelsea's current strain of injuries, Mount has played a full 90 minutes in eight consecutive matches.

Worth your consideration (16-24 percent rostered):

Conor Gallagher (MID Crystal Palace 6.1m, 16.8%): Conor Gallagher will return to the Premier League on Friday for Crystal Palace's away match against Brighton. Gallagher leads the Eagles in goals, assists, and shot-creating actions. He played well in Palace's latest FA cup match and will be the primary option in the final third on Friday, given that striker Wilfried Zaha is representing Ivory Coast in AFCON.

Solid if not Steller (10-15 percent rostered):

Harry Kane (FWD Tottenham 12.2m, 13.3%): Kane has found his form lately, scoring three goals in the previous four Gameweeks. He will more than likely continue his scoring run, especially given that he will be the sole attacking option for the Spurs with Heung-Min Son's absence.

Tottenham will have a DGW against Arsenal and Leicester. Kane has averaged 5.93 and 9.08 fantasy points per match against both sides, respectively.

Rolling the dice (under 10 percent rostered):

Joshua King (FWD Watford 5.8m, 8.5%): It is always tough to choose between Joshua King or his teammate Emmanuel Dennis. However, Dennis is still managing a knock, so King is the safer choice heading into Watford's DGW. Moreover, King has been the more productive player since Claudio Ranieri took charge in Gameweek 8, leading the team in shots(28) and shots in the box (23).
