NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are six games in the NHL on Monday.

Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado) - C - $9,000 (FanDuel), $8,500 (Draft Kings), $35 (Yahoo)

MacKinnon is in the talk for the Hart Trophy and deservedly so as he is the heart-and-soul of the Colorado Avalanche. MacKinnon has 35 goals and 92 points this season and is on a four-game points streak with two goals and eight points.

Taylor Hall (Arizona) - W - $7,200 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)

Hall has been okay for the Coyotes with 10 goals and 27 points in 34 games but is coming off a two-point game against Calgary as he scored once and assisted on another. The Coyotes have not played a lot of late (only four times in the last two weeks) so Hall should be well rested for the game in Winnipeg.

Alex Iafallo (Los Angeles) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,900 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)

The Kings have won five in a row and are in the third-game of a nine-game home stand. Iafallo has a goal and five points in his last four games and has career highs in goals, assists and points with 16, 26 and 42 thus far.

Bargain Bin:  Anze Kopitar (Los Angeles) - C - $7,700 (FanDuel), $5,300 (Draft Kings), $26 (Yahoo), Dustin Brown (Los Angles) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,600 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Jakub Vrana (Washington) – W - $4,700 (FanDuel) $5,600 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Oscar Klefbom (Edmonton) - $5,300 (FanDuel), $6,200 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Klefbom returned to the Oilers lineup Saturday for the first time in almost three weeks as he recovered from a shoulder injury. He was held off the scoresheet but was a plus-three. He has five goals and 33 points in 60 games this season and has been the Oilers leading defenseman including quarterbacking their outstanding power play.

John Carlson (Washington) - $6,600 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo)

You can’t go wrong taking the best defenseman in the NHL and that’s Carlson. The talented blueliner has 15 goals and 60 assists and has already beaten his career best 70 points set last season. He is the leading candidate for the Norris Trophy.

Bargain Bin:

Dmitry Orlov (Washington) - $3,900 (FanDuel), $3,900 (DraftKings), $10 (Yahoo)

Darnell Nurse (Edmonton) - $4,500 (FanDuel), $5,300 (Draft Kings), $18 (Yahoo)

Braden Holtby (Washington) - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,800 (DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

The Capitals take on Buffalo and that’s a good spot for Holtby who has won four of his last five contests. He seems to give up a lot of goals (16 in the last five games) but gets his wins as he is 25-14-5 this season. The Caps are great on the road as they are 23-10-2 so this is a good spot for the netminder.

Other plays:  Mike Smith (Edmonton) - $8,300 (FanDuel), $7,600 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo)
